Dear Community Members and Library Patrons,
Each year, it is in the library’s bylaws to provide the community with information about our annual report, as well as what is happening at the library. It is also an opportunity for us to ask our community to donate to the Library to assist in continuing the great programs we have. Please enjoy reading!
Last year we had:
- Over 4,000 general library visits
- Over 3,500 attended live programs
- 29 off-site programs offered
- 10,563 books circulated
- 389 live session programs
We have collaborated with an had outreach programs with:
- Mountain Lake Services
- Keeseville Country Gardens
- AuSable Valley Central Schools
- Keeseville Kid’s Cove
Our on-going programs include:
- Children’s Story Time
- Dungeons and Dragons Club
- Technology Tuesdays
- Various Art Workshops
- Mah Jongg
- Adult and Teen Trivia Nights
- Culinary Club
- Book Clubs
- Music Lessons
- Knitting and Crocheting Groups
We offer resources like:
- Sand River Community Farm soup from Fall to Spring
- A food shelf offering free non-perishables and fresh vegetables and eggs
- A resource bathroom, with items from toiletries and diapers to Narcan kits
- A Tool Lending Library in collaboration with the AuSable Valley Grange
We have a new Friends of the Library group providing volunteer help, as well as fundraising activities, which includes an ongoing book sale across from the Methodist Church downtown. Check that out when you have a chance!
We have also been fortunate to take over the responsibility of the Keeseville Community Arts Festival! This has allowed us to further collaborate with local agencies and businesses while bringing the community together to experience the art of local, regional and distant artists who paint scenes of our wonderful hamlet. Our first year was very successful. If you haven’t been be sure to check it out next year!
Our website is updated regularly with our newsletters and meeting minutes along with all the exciting and informational things that are happening at the Library.
