Adirondack Architectural Award in Memory of Tom Birdsey: $500 prize
This award is given in memory of Tom Birdsey, an Albany architect and KCAF co-founder who found his
true home at his camp on Lake Champlain. Tom had a deep appreciation for the region’s distinctive
architecture, from historic structures to the homes and buildings that give a setting its unique character.
This award is presented for the painting that best captures the spirit of Adirondack architecture.
Uplifting Community Award: $250 prize
This category is optional to participate in, but will help the Keeseville Free Library reach its goals of providing artwork that feels accessible to all members of the community. Artwork for this prize category will need to be priced at or below $250. If an artist elects to participate in the “Uplifting Community” category of the festival, the painting will not count against the maximum number of paintings that artists may enter in the show, and will not be judged except against other “Uplifting Community” prize submissions. This piece does not need to be framed and can be painted on whatever canvas the artist chooses.
Artists’ Choice Award: $250 prize
Plein Air artists will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite body of work in the show done by a different artist. The Artists’ Choice Award will be awarded to whomever receives the most votes.
People’s Choice Award: $250 prize
Individuals in attendance will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artist, based on the artist’s body of work in the show. The People’s Choice Award will be awarded to the artist receiving the most votes.
Please note: special awards are subject to change and more prizes may be added prior to the festival. All prizes except the Artists’ Choice and People’s Choice are awarded by a panel of three judges selected by the Keeseville Free Library
